Are you accepting new patients?

I am currently only offering psychosexual evaluations, which are always scheduled on Friday afternoon. For clients seeking weekly or bi-weekly therapy, my schedule is currently filled, but I will be accepting new clients starting in January, 2027. If you would like to be put on the wait-list in case there is an earlier opening, please let me know by reaching out via email (espijkers@vestacounselingservices.com) or text message (860-499-0359).

Are you offering in-person sessions?

We offer Telehealth services only through Google Meet.

Do you accept my insurance?

As of March 11, 2025, we only accept CT Medicaid (Husky) insurance. A self-pay option with a sliding fee scale is available to all clients and a superbill can be provided upon request for submission towards out-of-network benefits. Many clients have successfully been reimbursed with their out-of-network benefits plan offered by their insurance company.

What is your fee?

45 minute therapy session fees are based on a sliding fee scale that ranges from $250 - $500, depending on your income. The fee for a psychosexual evaluation is a flat rate of $1,200.

What can I expect on my first visit?

You can expect a casual conversation about what brings you in to therapy, and we will come up with a plan together about how to best tailor your treatment specifically to you. If we feel that we can be of service to you, and if you would like to start your sessions with us, you will be scheduled for your second appointment before you leave.

How do I log on to my session?

You will be sent a Calendar Invitation through Google Calendar that includes a link for Google Meet. Your link will always be in the calendar invitation, which you will receive through your email.

How long are your sessions?

Therapy sessions run between 40 - 50 minutes long.

What should I do if I can't attend my appointment?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please text or call your clinician to let them know.  Many individuals are in need of our services, and we would like to reassign your time period if you cannot attend.  If you are running late and you do not notify us ahead of time, we will wait for you a maximum of 10 minutes.  If you do not make it within the allotted 10 minutes, you will be considered a "no-show", your appointment will be cancelled, and you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. Please note that insurance does not cover your cancellation fee. Missing more than two appointments without appropriate notice means that you will not be rescheduled, as it is assumed that you are unable to commit to treatment.

What if Vesta Counseling Services is not a good fit for me?

You are under no obligation to continue utilizing our services and we don’t take that personally.  We will be happy to work with you to help make appropriate referrals that best fit your needs.

What should I do if my medication runs out?

Vesta Counseling Services does not prescribe medication.  You should contact the prescriber (doctor/provider) for a refill.  If your prescriber is not available, please head to your nearest emergency center.
